School Social Services Specialist

Under the supervision of the Manager, Child & Adolescent - Mental Health & Addictions, the Social Services Specialist delivers support directly within the educational environment of designated schools.
This role is part of a multidisciplinary team situated in schools, contributing to the planning, development, delivery, and assessment of mental health services tailored for the designated student population. The focus is on the early detection and intervention of mental health challenges affecting children and adolescents in the school setting.
We seek an individual who fulfills the following qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work
- Active registration with the relevant Social Work regulatory body or eligibility for registration
- A minimum of two years' experience in providing mental health services to young children, school-aged children, and adolescents in a mental health context
- Understanding of prevalent childhood mental health issues and the capability to identify and refer severe cases
- Proven experience in conducting mental health evaluations and executing evidence-based treatment strategies
- Competence in screening for co-occurring mental health conditions and awareness of how substance use affects mental health
- Exceptional skills in coordinating connections with other health, legal, educational, and community organizations

Work Schedule- Permanent part-time role; 37.5 hours every two weeks
$49.04 per hour
Successful candidates may qualify for a benefits package that includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, in addition to a defined benefit pension plan.
