Newmont Inc., a leading gold company and producer of copper, silver, zinc, and lead, seeks a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join its Global Projects team in Vancouver, Canada. With over 100 years of experience, Newmont is committed to responsible mining practices and sustainability.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in estimating on heavy industrial projects, with expertise in cost estimation, project management, and leadership. A tertiary degree in a related field is required, as well as advanced skills in MS Excel and computer literacy. The salary for this role is CAD $133,960 - $149,815 per year, based on the British Columbia market.

About the Role
  • As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for providing guidance, leadership, and expertise in capital cost estimation, ensuring compliance with Newmont's standards.
  • You will work closely with the Director of Projects and Closure Estimating to develop and implement estimating tools, processes, and procedures to streamline estimating functions across the organization.
  • Additional responsibilities include providing assurance activities for capital cost estimates, collaborating with regional project controls directors and study managers, and supporting the development of Stage 1 & 2A project estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders related to Projects Estimating.
  2. Assist in the preparation of Authorization for Expenditure documentation.
  3. Aid in the development of capital cost estimates as required, ensuring compliance with Newmont standards.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary degree in a related field.
  • Minimum 10-15 years' experience in estimating on heavy industrial projects.
