Insurance Coordinator

This role is responsible for supporting the insurance application process from referral to policy delivery. The Insurance Coordinator works closely with the Insurance Advisor to provide ongoing case management and client support, including post-sale servicing and preparation for policy renewals. The position ensures compliance documents are completed and filed appropriately, and liaises with Investment Advisor teams and associates to manage case files and update them on the progress of applications.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor the progress of applications through underwriting and policy issue, including the status of medical requirement orders and APSs. Investigate issues and work with insurance carriers to find solutions
Respond to requests from insurance carrier underwriters and clients to assist in the issuing of policies
Work with underwriters to determine the best course of action for clients with challenging medical history, including developing proposals that consider preliminary ratings and the client's situation
Prepare policies for delivery to clients
New referral intake, including updating the CRM, establishing a needs analysis, and booking meetings with clients
Support the Insurance Advisor in preparing presentations to High-Net-Worth clients, including running illustrations and creating reports in Life Design Analysis
Service policy owners, including but not limited to past due notices, requests for CSVs, and NSF's
Implement appropriate changes to policies, including but not limited to PAD, beneficiary changes, ownership forms, address changes, claims at the request of clients
Survey the database for upcoming policy term renewals and ensure they are addressed in a timely manner
Regular review of open cases and referred case list to ensure timely follow-up and action
Manage electronic and paper records and files, respecting appropriate security standards, including maintaining policy files in the CRM
Assist in the financial settlement of policies and the reconciliation of policy commissions
Requirements
Active life and accident & sickness insurance license in good standing (or willingness to get licensed)
Experience using the Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat, and the advisor portals of insurance companies in Canada
Knowledge of the intricacies of Disability insurance would be an asset
