Occupational Health Nurse Professional Lead

Bayshore Home Care Solutions is a leading provider of home and community health care services in Canada.
We are seeking a Clinical Supervisor to join our team. As an Occupational Health Registered Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for managing employee illness/injury related absences and supporting return-to-work processes.
This role will work closely with the Manager to develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate occupational health program initiatives and lead health promotion and wellness activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement policies, procedures, and processes to meet national and provincial standards and support the overall Occupational Health program
- Lead initiatives to mitigate organizational and employee risk related to occupational/non-work-related illness/injury absences, return to work and medical accommodation
- Support management of the process regarding confidential employee health records, ensuring compliance to legislative guidelines and best practice standards
- Perform risk assessments and provide appropriate intervention and reporting
- Support employees on medical leave and ensure appropriate medical documentation is received in a timely manner and as per the policy
- Collaborate with leadership to manage requests for medical accommodation
- Support employees on Long Term Disability and liaise with Insurance Carrier promoting early, and safe return to work initiatives
- Provides first aid for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
- Offering health teaching/coaching, including designing and presenting health promotion materials
- Provide wellness services such as administering flu shot clinics and presenting health promotion materials
Requirements:
- Current registration with an Ontario Regulated Health Professional College required
- Certificate or diploma in Occupational Health
- A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in Occupational Health
- CPR and/or GPA trainer certification considered an asset
- Comprehensive, working knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines – Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety & Insurance Act, Public Hospitals Act, Communicable Disease Surveillance Protocols for Ontario Hospitals MOHLTC, PIDAC Best Practices
- Communicable Disease surveillance, immunization protocols and exposure management knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in disability case management, absence management including STD, LTD and WSIB case management
- Strong assessment, health teaching/promotion skills
- Working knowledge of occupational wellness, ergonomics and safety
- Ability to effectively manage high-risk situations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office programs, Parklane software knowledge considered an asset
Salary and Benefits:
$80,000 - $110,000 per year (estimated salary range)
