Job Overview

The Electrical Specialist will perform electrical trade functions under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. This includes installation, programming, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment and components.

About the Role

This contract position requires 6-7 months of commitment. The successful candidate will review manufacturer manuals, schematics, blueprints, and drawings to understand the operation of controllers, PLCs, and other programmable equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety rules and using appropriate safety equipment.
  • Demonstrate lockout/tagout knowledge when servicing electrical equipment.
  • Repair electrical equipment such as Control Logic, Allen Bradley SLC 500, Siemens, Vision Systems, and more.
  • Work on 24VDC systems and have a solid understanding of 120-, 220/240-, and 480-volt power distribution installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Achieve all work orders to maintain safety, reduce downtime, decrease scrap, improve quality production, and enhance plant efficiency.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, housekeeping standards, and 5S principles to ensure a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Possess excellent communication skills to interact effectively with colleagues and management.
  • Hold a valid 442A license for Industrial Electrician.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Show experience with machine set-ups, troubleshoot equipment failures, and perform repair and preventive maintenance services while adhering to safety procedures.
  • Proven capability in PLC troubleshooting, reading, and programming code.
  • Display a strong working knowledge of electrical controls, mechanical assembly, plumbing, and HVAC-related control systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical control and mechanical assembly drawings as well as service manuals for equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair both electrical and mechanical problems associated with production and facility equipment efficiently.
  • Develop problem-solving skills to address complex issues in varying situations.
  • Cultivate the ability to interpret diverse instructions in written, oral, and diagram or schedule formats.
