**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to join our multidisciplinary team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will assist in carrying out individual service plans under the direction of the Clinical team members on the Mental Health Team. The primary responsibilities include rehabilitative and supportive functions, including skill building/enhancement, creation and maintenance of formal and informal support networks, linking to and maintaining formal and informal support services, provision of appropriate and accurate information and consultation with families as related to skill building/enhancement and development of supports.

Requirements:

  • Two years of related experience with people with mental health issues or other human service;
  • Experience in life skill teaching and support to individuals who struggle with mental health issues or other disabilities or conditions;
  • Experience in developing, planning and coordinating services;

Education and Qualifications:

  • University or College education in human services, other related disciplines, or high school diploma and related training;
  • A valid driver's license and a vehicle is required;

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Recovery as it applies to individuals with mental illness;
  • Knowledge of community support services related to income, housing, employment social integration and self-help;
  • Demonstrated skills and competence to establish supportive, trusting relationships with individuals and other stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Effective networking and agency relations skills;
  • Able to use problem resolution skills to handle sensitive and complex issues related to multiple service involvement and interdisciplinary teams;

Working Conditions:

  • Evening and weekend work will be required;

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $21.671-$25.503 per hour, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental coverage, pension plan, and generous vacation time.
