Job Overview

As a Mental Health Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will be part of our multi-disciplinary team at the Crisis Response Centre (CRC). The CRC delivers crisis services to individuals residing within the Health Region, providing 24/7 walk-in and mobile services, as well as scheduled post-crisis services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals in need;
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, physician assistants, nurses, and other clinicians and crisis workers;
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with community partners and stakeholders;
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in crisis intervention theory and practice.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, psychology, or nursing;
  • Four years of related community experience, including experience working with individuals with mental health concerns and/or substance use disorders;
  • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) certification;
  • Suicide Assessment and Intervention Training;
  • Knowledge of Crisis Intervention Theory;
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle preferred;
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingualism (French/English) an asset;
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
  • Knowledge of psychosocial rehab and recovery principles;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
