As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on our team, you will be part of an interdisciplinary group working together to provide comprehensive care to clients with mental health and addiction issues.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate LPN to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing nursing care to clients, administering medications, and supporting recovery strategies. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, and support staff, to ensure that our clients receive the best possible care. Your duties will include conducting patient assessments, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a current LPN license in good standing and experience working in a mental health setting. A strong understanding of trauma-informed care and the 12-step program is an asset. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and colleagues, and adapt to changing situations with flexibility and poise. We also require that you possess excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and time management skills, and are committed to ongoing professional development and growth.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Current LPN license in good standing
- Trauma-informed training/experience an asset;
- Knowledge of mental health and addictions and the 12 steps an asset;
- Passion and relentless pursuit for improving the life chances for all clients through support grounded in sound treatment practices;
- Proven ability to work well as an integral part of a team which includes senior management, managers, supervisors, staff and outside agencies;
- Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, communication, and problem solving skills;
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and nimble;
- Commitment to professional development and growth;
- Must be able to read, write and communicate verbally and in writing;
- Must be able to understand and follow directions;
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others;
- Ability to fulfill the functional demands of the position;
- Negative TB test;
- Valid First Aid/CPR Level C;
- Criminal record check through the Ministry of Justice;
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License in good standing
