Occupational Therapist II, Occupational Therapy Acute Rehab Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our team at BC Children's Hospital and SunnyHill Health Centre. The successful candidate will provide occupational therapy assessments and treatment programs for clients/patients in our acute rehabilitation program.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct occupational therapy assessments using advanced clinical reasoning and skill.
- Develop and implement occupational therapy treatment programs for clients/patients, including developing innovative solutions to assessment and treatment issues.
- Document information, including relevant clinical data, assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and outcomes.
- Assess the need for specific client/patient equipment and assist clients/patients and families to obtain equipment to meet individual needs.
- Maintain communication with clients/patients and families to foster optimal progress.
- Develop and/or participate in client/family education, including establishing treatment/care programs.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary groups and teams, providing consultation, clinical advice, input, and suggestions related to client/patient management.
- Participate on professional committees/teams and designated programs, attending meetings and providing written/verbal advanced knowledge to promote improvements in occupational therapy and interdisciplinary practice.
- Collaborate with senior personnel to develop research proposals and participate in conducting approved research projects.
- Participate in orientation and training for others, developing educational materials as required.
- Baccalaureate in Occupational Therapy and licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.
- Two (2) years of recent related experience, including one (1) year in pediatrics or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience. Plus 50 hours of postgraduate coursework/training related to additional procedures, techniques, and job functions for assigned area.

- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism, and Indigenous Cultural Safety and foundational documents and legislative commitments.
