Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist II to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). As a key member of our Acute Rehabilitation Program, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy services to pediatric patients, promoting their independence and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of pediatric patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide coordinated care and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement innovative occupational therapy programs and interventions to promote patient engagement and participation.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers to empower them to take an active role in their care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in occupational therapy.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate in Occupational Therapy and licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.
- Two (2) years of recent related experience, including one (1) year in pediatrics or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- 50 hours of post-graduate coursework or training related to additional procedures, techniques, and job functions for assigned area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism, and Indigenous Cultural Safety.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and populations.
