Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Daycare Support Worker to join our team at Family and Children's Services Niagara. The successful candidate will provide support to our childcare staff in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for children, while also assisting with daily routines and activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, including cleaning and sanitizing toys and equipment.
  • Assist with daily routines such as toileting, preparing and serving snacks and lunches, and directing children in tidiness of the playroom and housekeeping.
  • Recognize and respond to unusual behavior in children, and report any concerns to ECE staff.
  • Ensure adequate sanitary and housekeeping standards are maintained, and perform vacuuming, loading or unloading the dishwasher, and other housekeeping duties.
  • Complete visual health and safety inspections on a regular basis.
  • Record attendance daily and complete health incident forms for children as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working with children, youth, and families
  • Valid standard First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferred)
  • Valid G Driver's License and access to a reliable motor vehicle with appropriate liability insurance
