Counsellor Specialist

St.Amant is a not-for-profit organization that supports over 2,200 people in Manitoba with developmental disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injury. Our team of over 2,000 staff members are committed to providing person-centered care and adapting to the unique needs of each individual and family.
Job Responsibilities:
The Counsellor will provide services in accordance with St.Amant's Mission and Values, policies, and procedures, as well as external legislation and regulatory bodies. Key responsibilities include:
• Providing counselling services to children and families in accordance with the Jordan's Principle
• Working in collaboration with the Manager, Social Work and Counselling to ensure the success of St.Amant's business and operations
• Participating in continuous quality improvement activities, including the development, modification, and implementation of service and program goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and standards
• Using service evaluation feedback to continually strengthen services
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess a Masters degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or a related discipline from a recognized university. Previous counselling experience, including individual work with children and adults, is required. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of community resources, the application of individual and family/group dynamics, and the ability to identify high-risk situations and respond appropriately.
