Employment and Training Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Employment and Training Counsellor to join our team at the Manitoba Metis Federation.
As an Employment and Training Counsellor, you will be responsible for conducting assessments of clients to determine their employment needs and eligibility for MET programs and services.
Your key duties will include assessing client needs through an interview process, gathering information, and determining eligibility, as well as developing appropriate employment and training plans with clients.
You will also provide clients with job search assistance, information on programs and services, and referrals to counselling or community services.
Additionally, you will prepare and monitor cash flows and other financial documentation for client files, and research and access labour market information and job postings.
To be successful in this role, you will require post-secondary education and experience in the Social Sciences field, as well as a minimum of two years of experience in employment/career counselling.
You will also need to have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and computerized case/client management data systems.

We are looking for someone with strong client orientation and quality assurance skills, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and adapt to conflicting and tight deadlines.
Experience working with Indigenous non-profit organizations, volunteer boards & committees is preferred, as is knowledge of Métis culture and MMF programs and services.
A valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle is also required.
