Pharmacist - Primary Health Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Primary Health Care Pharmacist, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centered care that optimizes safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working with patients to identify and resolve drug-related problems
- Participating in interprofessional medical rounds
- Providing patient education and making therapeutic recommendations to the medical team
- Ensuring safe and effective drug therapy through participation in and oversight of drug distribution systems
Travel may be required for this position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the effective and efficient attainment of the goals and objectives of Nova Scotia Health Pharmacy Services.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with:
- Graduation from an accredited university program in Pharmacy
- Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred
- Licensure to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
HoursThis is a permanent full-time position with a biweekly schedule of 75 hours. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Compensation and IncentivesThe successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $53.24. In addition, they may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
