About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Accountant to join our Finance Department. Reporting to the Operations Accountant, you will provide essential financial and administrative support to Project Managers across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in financial analysis, operations accounting, and project management within a dynamic and challenging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate and timely project budgets for review and approval by Project Managers, Business Areas, or Corporate stakeholders.
  • Prepare fiscal performance forecasts for both ongoing projects and planned initiatives, ensuring alignment with annual budget cycles and half-year updates.
  • Generate monthly reports encompassing key financial metrics such as Cost Trend, Accounts Receivable (A/R), milestone status, and budget revisions.
  • Maintain and reconcile project cost reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate invoicing and billing schedules, collaborating with Project Managers and Finance/Contracts departments to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
  • Assist Project Managers in the preparation of project plans, progress reports, and other relevant documentation.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Finance/Contracts teams to maintain up-to-date financial instruments that reflect project requirements.
  • Track all commitments, purchases, outstanding items, and arrange shipping/customs details and documentation for projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with cost accounting principles is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
