About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team at THE NORTHGATE TRADING INC. as a User Support Technician. This is a permanent position, working 30 hours per week, with a focus on providing exceptional technical support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support
    • Respond to clients experiencing difficulties with computer systems, providing timely and effective solutions.
    • Consult technical manuals, guides, and other resources to research and implement solutions.
    • Provide training and advice to clients in response to identified difficulties.
  • Problem-Solving and Log Management
    • Collect, organize, and maintain a problems and solutions log for use by other technical support analysts.
  • System Support and Maintenance
    • Provide business systems, network, and Internet support to clients in response to identified difficulties.
    • Set up equipment for employee use, ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
    • Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and desktop applications.
    • Strong knowledge of MS Windows and file management software.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Work Environment and Conditions
    • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks.
    • Ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Accurate, client-focused, and efficient in interpersonal interactions.
    • Initiative, judgement, and ability to multitask.
    • Strong time management skills.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
    • Permanent position with a 30-hour workweek.
    • Language of work: English.
