Maintenance and Engineering Manager

About the Role
This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of site maintenance while managing various resources to meet production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Directs and optimizes site performance through effective troubleshooting, utilizing expertise in process utilities, HVAC systems, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), process chemicals, building automation systems (BAS), Purified Water Systems (PWS), and instrumentation.
- Addresses intricate challenges or those lacking established solutions.
- Applies best practices and insights from internal or external business contexts to enhance products, services, or operational processes.
- Supervises personnel assigned to site maintenance and systems management.
- Frequently leads project teams and may provide formal training to junior staff members.
- Oversees contractors engaged for site-related tasks and ongoing projects as necessary.
- Manages daily site operations including pest management, climate control, sanitation, and maintenance of grounds and buildings, along with PWS.
- Responsible for the execution of renovation projects and related tasks.
- Procures consumables and parts for site operations and maintains inventory.
- Effectively manages the budget.
- Conducts repairs as required for both production facilities and buildings.
- Recognizes, prevents, and proactively addresses workplace hazards and conditions.
- Conducts investigations into incidents/accidents, performs root cause analysis, and implements appropriate corrective measures.
Demonstrates exemplary EHS practices to mitigate the release of materials and energy, minimize EHS impacts, and ensure compliance with EHS regulations and procedures.
Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:
- Possession of a professional license: electrician, millwright, or a degree in Science/Engineering within a relevant field.
Desirable:
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering; Professional Engineering designation (PEng) is preferred.
- Over 15 years of experience in the maintenance sector.
- Experience in the Chemical, Food, or Pharmaceutical industries is required.
- Basic computer proficiency is necessary, with a solid understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance practices is essential.
- Good understanding of the building life cycle to contribute to strategic planning.
- Ability to comprehend the scope of work to accurately estimate job costs.
