The Opportunity

This position oversees the day-to-day activities of site maintenance, managing resources to support production demand.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Execute and manage site performance through effective problem-solving, leveraging experience in process utilities, HVAC, OEM's, process chemicals, BAS, Purified Water Systems, and instrumentation.
  2. Resolve complex problems or those without precedent, utilizing best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products/services or processes.
  3. Lead employees assigned to site maintenance and site systems, often guiding project teams and formally training junior staff.
  4. Manage contractors hired for site-related work and ongoing projects as required.
  5. Oversee daily activities like pest control, heating and cooling, cleaning, ground and building maintenance, and PWS.
  6. Execute renovations work and projects, ordering consumables/parts for site consumption and maintaining stores.
  7. Manage budget effectively and execute repairs as needed for both production and building.
Hazard Recognition and Investigation Skills:
  • Identify, prevent, and proactively correct workplace hazards and conditions.
  • Perform incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, and establish corrective action.
Requirements:

Essential:

  • A professional license: electrician, millwright, or Science/Engineering degree in such field.

Desirable:

  • BASc Engineering; Professional designation in Engineering (PEng) preferred.
  • 15+ years experience in maintenance field.
  • Chemical, Food and/or Pharma experience required.
  • Basic computer skills required with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance and building life cycle to participate in strategically planning.
  • Ability to understand the scope of work to estimate job costs.
