We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Relations Liaison to join our team at WRHA Corporate. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining strong relationships with patients, families, and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities- Conflict Resolution and Complaint Management: Facilitate conflict management and complaint resolutions for complex and sensitive situations, ensuring that all concerns are given impartial consideration and appropriate responses.
- Patient Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate, providing information and resources to patients and families, and facilitating initial and final disclosure to the patient/family.
- Communication and Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison between patients, families, and healthcare stakeholders, ensuring clear and compassionate communication during critical incident reviews.
- Quality Improvement: Provide input and recommendations for quality improvements based on patient feedback, and share patient experiences with healthcare leaders to support improvements to healthcare performance and models of care.
- Culture of Safety and Inclusion: Foster a culture of safety and inclusion, and support healthcare leaders in building a healthy, culturally safe workplace and positive environments.
- Experience: 5 years of experience working directly with patients and families, with 3 years of experience applying and implementing quality, risk management, and patient safety principles and procedures.
- Education: Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline, such as health/social sciences, communications, or health information services, with a certificate in quality management, patient safety, mediation, or conflict resolution an asset.
- Certification/Licensure/Registration: Active membership in a relevant regulatory body.
- Qualifications and Skills: Demonstrated staff-level leadership capabilities, conflict resolution and mediation skills, and the ability to work safely in a typical computerized office environment.
