As a Global Payroll and Compliance Expert at Scotiabank, you will play a key role in supporting the bank's payroll compliance projects and initiatives to ensure data accuracy and efficiency within SAP and regulatory requirements.

This role collaborates with various business areas, including Payroll Operations, Payroll Controls, Total Rewards COE, IT&S/HR Support, to create future processes, document and manage project-related tasks and requirements. The successful candidate will ensure all activities conducted are compliant with technical foundations, governing regulations, internal policies, procedures, and standards.

Responsibilities:
  • SUPPORTS PROJECT EXECUTION OF GLOBAL EXPANSION INITIATIVES: Providing insights and ensuring payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance for global HR transformation initiatives.
  • PAYROLL COMPLIANCE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT: Possessing in-depth knowledge of global payroll and compliance, as well as banking regulations, laws, and policies.
  • COLLABORATE WITH MANAGER, GLOBAL PAYROLL AND COMPLIANCE: Evaluating and analyzing existing payroll policies, procedures, and processes to identify improvement/enhancement opportunities and implement solutions.
  • SOX AUDIT PROCESS: Collaborating with Manager, Global Payroll and Compliance to ensure strong process controls are implemented, documentation is prepared and updated regularly for financial and regulatory processes.
  • AUDITS BUSINESS AND COMPLIANCE CONTROLS: Conducting audits, developing, and executing control enhancements to ensure compliance issues are logged and remediated.
  • TECHNICAL EXPERTISE: Analyzing and building business requirements regarding the payroll system to align with established project requirements, providing technical expertise and support for SAP.
  • ACCOUNTABILITY FOR ACCURATE ADMINISTRATION: Ensuring the accurate administration, remittance, and reporting of payroll-related activities in compliance with relevant employment standards and legislations.
