Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at McMaster Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to critically ill children and their families.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work in various specialized areas, including PICU, inpatient wards, and the Pediatric Emergency Department. Once you have gained experience, you may also have the chance to complete advanced training to work within the Pediatric Critical Care Response Team (PACE) or become a member of the Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team, which provides transport for critically ill children across southern Ontario.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Graduate degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program, current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario, and successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care exam.

You should also have Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification or willingness to complete within six (6) months of start date, and a minimum of two (2) years recent experience in a pediatric setting.
