Pediatric Care Specialist

Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation is seeking a skilled Pediatric Care Specialist to join our team. This role will play a vital part in providing comprehensive medical assessment, management, and education to pediatric patients.
Responsibilities
The Pediatric Care Specialist will work under the direct supervision of pediatric surgeons, utilizing evidence-based practice principles to facilitate consistent application of clinical protocols and continuity of care. The specialist will work in partnership with pediatric surgeons, consultants, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care. Key responsibilities include:
• Conducting comprehensive medical assessments and developing personalized care plans
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to implement treatment plans and interventions
• Providing education and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Participating in research and academic pursuits as directed by the identified physician supervisor
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess a graduate degree from a recognized Physician Assistant program. Prior experience in pediatric acute care settings is an asset. A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in applying advanced pediatric knowledge, physical assessment skills, diagnostic interventions, and self-care or caregiver-led management skills for pediatric patients in an ambulatory setting is also required. Proficiency in performing history and examination of infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents is essential.
Schedule Work Hours
This position requires Monday to Friday, day shifts, with potential evening and weekend hours as needed. The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, leadership and critical thinking abilities, and a commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
Compensation Package
The estimated annual salary for this position is between $98,483 and $117,426, based on industry standards and comparable roles within the region. Benefits may include health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
