Job Title: Youth Care Worker

At Equest, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Worker to join our team. As a Youth Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to vulnerable individuals with complex needs.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and empathetic individual to work with children, youth, and adults with behavioral, cognitive, mental health, and/or developmental challenges. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and structured living environment, while promoting the growth and development of our participants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide care and support to individuals with complex needs, including behavioral issues, developmental disabilities, and mental health disorders.
  • Maintain a therapeutic milieu and participate in the development and implementation of activity plans.
  • Engage and fully participate with participants, providing emotional and physical support, and serving as a positive role model.
  • Teach life skills, such as self-care, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and positive interactions.
  • Resolve conflicts and respond to crisis situations using behavioral management and support methods.
  • Complete reports and documentation clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a high school diploma.
  • A certificate, diploma, or degree in child and youth care (CYC) or a related field of study is an asset.
  • One (1) year of experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with behavioral, cognitive, mental health, and/or developmental challenges.
