About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Specialist to join our team at Equest. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to vulnerable individuals with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized care and support to children, youth, and adults with behavioral, cognitive, mental health, and/or developmental challenges.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic living environment, promoting the physical and emotional well-being of our participants.
  • Develop and implement activity plans that cater to the diverse interests and needs of our participants.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Provide guidance and support to new staff members, practicum students, and volunteers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of operational budgets and capital plans.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; certificate, diploma, or degree in child and youth care or a related field is an asset.
  • One year of experience working with children, youth, and/or adults with complex needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively, and lead through motivation and support.
  • Emotional competence, self-awareness, and ability to display empathy, patience, and understanding.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to complete tasks independently.
