About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Professional to join our team at DeafBlind Ontario Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing personalized support to individuals who are deafblind or have significant sensory loss.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement personalized support plans that cater to the unique needs and goals of each individual.
  • Provide holistic support services, including daily living skills, communication assistance, and advocacy.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and guardians to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Utilize various communication methods, including ASL, SEE, and LSQ, to facilitate effective communication.
  • Document and track progress, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in sensory loss support.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Up to one year of relevant work experience in a support or caregiving role.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
