About this role

The British Columbia Public Service Careers invites applications for the position of Director of Corporate Communications and Stakeholder Relations Lead.

This is a key leadership role within the organization, responsible for leading, developing, and implementing internal and external communications strategies and tactics, including corporate communications and media relations.

As a seasoned professional, you will provide management expertise, communications advice, and direction to senior executives, ensuring the effective implementation of communications plans, policies, and standards throughout the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications strategies to engage stakeholders, build reputation, and promote organizational goals.
  • Provide strategic guidance on corporate communications, media relations, and crisis communications.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver communications initiatives, campaigns, and projects.
  • Maintain strong relationships with media, stakeholders, and senior executives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Education and Experience: A degree or diploma in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related discipline, and a minimum of five years of recent, related experience.

Skills and Qualifications:*

  • Proven track record of success in communications leadership roles.
  • Expertise in media relations, crisis communications, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex information clearly.
