Job Summary

The Regional Operations Manager is a key role within BGIS, responsible for the effective management of a skilled trades operation. This position requires a strong leader who can drive team engagement, collaborate on process development, and achieve service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities
  • People Leadership
    • Manage a team of skilled trades employees, including Technicians, to ensure achievement of all requirements.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement, development, and performance management.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards through regular tool box talks, safety training, and protective equipment provision.
    • Monitor and review incidents to identify areas for improvement.
  • Operations Management
    • Manage operational budgets, focusing on cost control and weekly work order expenditures.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to review, develop, and refine processes and standard operating procedures.
    • Recommend and implement technologies to achieve greater efficiencies and productivity.
    • Deploy Technicians to projects and work orders, ensuring timely completion and adherence to requirements.
    • Monitor and drive team performance to achieve service level agreements and performance metrics.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.
    • Provide technical support to Technicians and ensure work is performed in accordance with internal and external requirements.
Requirements
  • 8-10 years of trades operations work experience, with at least 5 years at the supervisory or management level.
  • Technical expertise in one or more skilled trades discipline, such as refrigeration, electrical, or plumbing.
  • Ability to lead and engage a team of skilled trades employees and drive performance to ensure all requirements are achieved.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to develop and implement processes and standard operating procedures.
Education and Qualifications
  • Community college diploma or equivalent training (RPA, CET).
  • Trade certification in one or more of the following: Journeyman level Refrigeration license, Journeyman level Electrical license, or Journeyman level Plumbing license.
