About the Role

This is a Full Time Temporary position of 12 months with 8 hour shifts, days, evenings and weekends On Call, in the Operating Room, Ophthalmology Department at Minor Surgical & Elder Care, 243 Consumers Rd.

You will provide excellent patient and family driven care, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of care providers. Your goal is to assess, educate, prevent, maintain, and restore patient health in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner.

You must be a great relationship builder, fostering close contacts with peers across the entire organization. You should have great interpersonal skills, effortlessly connecting with physicians, staff, patients, and families.

About the Team

We offer a highly competitive total compensation package which may include benefits, pension, vacation pay, or pay in lieu of benefits, when applicable.

The estimated salary range for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on your experience and qualifications.

About the Job Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate the ability to function to the full scope of nursing practice per the College of Nurses of Ontario. You should also have clinical competence in surgical nursing skills, effective communication skills, and critical thinking abilities.

You must think critically, set priorities, and organize work in response to client/patient needs. Additionally, you should be committed to ongoing learning, professional development, and continuous quality improvement.

  • Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Operating Room post-diploma program certificate
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification

The ideal candidate will have recent Operating Room experience covering all surgical services and surgical ophthalmology experience. Bilingualism in French/English is an asset.
