Nursing Graduate Guarantee Program

Our hospitals are proud participants of the Nursing Graduate Guarantee Program, which provides temporary full-time employment opportunities for new Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses.

Program Objectives
  • Support new nurses in Ontario as they transition into practice
  • Improve the integration of new nurses into the workforce
  • Promote the availability of full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours for new nurses
  • Promote health workforce planning at the organizational level
Program Components
  • Nursing and interprofessional orientation learning modules
  • Competency-based learning pathway and learning plan
  • Preceptored shifts for unit(s) specific to NGG hire
  • Regular check-ins and mentorship with the Nurse Educator
Eligibility

Eligible nurses must:

  • Be within months of registering with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Match with an employer on the NGG online portal
  • Commit to accepting full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with their NGG employer after completing the NGG program transition into practice period
Getting Started

Eligible nurses must first visit the NGG portal and register as a Nursing User. Once registered, they will be able to apply to posted positions on the NGG portal.
