Job Description
We are seeking an Accountant to join our Payroll & Benefits department at our head office in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting our payroll and benefits processes by ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial information, helping maintain efficient and effective financial operations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Reconcile payroll and benefits related bank and general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare, review and maintain journal entries on a bi-weekly and monthly basis.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting for period-end processes.
  • Continuously identify and improve processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other accounting departments to understand and fulfill their general ledger requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain compliance and accuracy.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in accounting principles and practices, with a strong ability to manage reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Computer literate with the ability to learn new software and proficient in Microsoft 365 Application Suite, specifically Excel.
