Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Healthcare Safety Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating safety programs and activities across our healthcare system, including laboratory services, patient care areas, and administrative offices.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures
- Conducting regular safety inspections and audits
- Providing training and education on safety protocols and procedures
- Investigating incidents and near misses
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
You will work closely with our Academic Chair, Medical Laboratory Sciences, to ensure that all safety programs and activities are aligned with our strategic objectives and meet the needs of our patients and staff.

What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary range of $61,000 - $77,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must have:
- A bachelor's degree in microbiology, environmental sciences, or a related field
- A minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in safety management or a related field
- Certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or equivalent
- Strong communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and data management software
