Municipal Infrastructure Project Manager

AECOM is a world-leading infrastructure consulting firm, and we are seeking a highly skilled Municipal Engineer to join our team in Burnaby, BC. As a key member of our Water and Wastewater Conveyance group, you will be responsible for designing civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater/drainage conveyance facilities.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of hydraulic modeling and planning principles, as well as significant experience in civil engineering, design, and construction of municipal infrastructure. They will be expected to work effectively within a team environment, communicate effectively with project team members and customers, and have a high level of initiative, motivation, and drive.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to support the delivery of critical infrastructure projects to customers in the municipal stormwater, water, and wastewater sectors. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing civil systems for municipal water and/or wastewater/drainage conveyance facilities
- Preparing documentation for design projects and reports
- Estimating construction costs
- Developing project specifications and contract documents
- Performing constructability reviews
- Administering contracts
- Conducting construction inspections
In addition to these responsibilities, you will also contribute to client communication and management, proposal preparation, coordination with regulatory agencies, project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
Requirements and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field + 4 years of relevant experience in civil engineering or municipal engineering
- Experience with civil engineering, planning, design, construction inspection, and contract administration
- Training and experience in managing municipal water and wastewater-related projects
- P.Eng with EGBC or eligibility within 6-12 months
- Experience with water/wastewater/drainage conveyance infrastructure in a municipal environment, including gravity and pressurized systems
- Experience in proposal writing and job scoping
- Project management experience
- Familiarity with blue and green infrastructure (ponds, wetlands, bioswales, raingardens, etc.)
- Working knowledge of hydraulic modeling platforms
- MMCD Contract Administration certification
- Excellent written skills for technical reports
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Valid BC Class V Driver's License
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients
Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
