Strategic Procurement Expert for Water Infrastructure Projects

We are seeking a highly experienced Strategic Procurement Expert to join our team in procuring water/wastewater treatment equipment. This critical role supports our clients' needs for large capital projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Engage with vendors throughout the negotiation process, driving agreements to close.
- Meet requirements for completeness, competitiveness, compliance, quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment stakeholder standards.
- Collaborate closely with the wider project teams, including the Owner, Engineers, Legal etc.
- Negotiate contracts for selected vendors, and coordinate with legal counsel as needed.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends to ensure accurate pricing and effective vendor management.
- Leverage market insights to optimize procurement and support cost-efficiency goals.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline: engineering, finance, business, or related field.
- Eight plus years of procurement-related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices.
- Experience with large infrastructure capital project delivery is an asset.
- Experience with municipal government clients is an asset.
- Proven experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of procurement strategy, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, or equivalent) is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, etc.).
- Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment equipment and related industry standards is an asset.
- Ability to travel as needed.
We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 per year, based on the level of experience required for this position. In addition to a base salary, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
