Strategic Procurement Professional for Large Infrastructure Projects

AECOM is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Procurement Specialist to join our team in procuring water/wastewater treatment equipment. This role is critical in supporting our clients' needs relating to large capital projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement implementation/coordination, supplier relationship management, legal and commercial negotiation, and coordinating closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Vendor Interaction and Management:
    • Engage with vendors throughout the negotiation process, driving agreements to close.
    • Meet requirements for completeness, competitiveness, compliance, quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment stakeholder standards.
    • Collaborate closely with the wider project teams, including the Owner, Engineers, Legal etc.
  • Contract Preparation and Legal Coordination:
    • Negotiate contracts for selected vendors, and coordinate with legal counsel as needed.
  • Industry Knowledge and Pricing Trends:
    • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends to ensure accurate pricing and effective vendor management.
    • Leverage market insights to optimize procurement and support cost-efficiency goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline: engineering, finance, business, or related field.
  • Eight plus years of procurement-related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with large infrastructure capital project delivery is an asset.
  • Experience with municipal government clients is an asset.
  • Proven experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of procurement strategy, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, or equivalent) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, etc.).
  • Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment equipment and related industry standards is an asset.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

$120,000 - $180,000 per year.
