Pelican Events and Catering is seeking an experienced Executive Chef Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of culinary events.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and organized individual to supervise our kitchen staff and coordinate food preparation and presentation. If you have experience in a fast-paced environment and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in catering or a related field, with experience in supervising staff and managing inventory. A secondary school graduation certificate and equivalent experience are required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish efficient methods to meet work schedules and deadlines.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to promote a safe working environment.
  • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation to minimize waste and optimize resources.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage to inform inventory management decisions.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain attention to detail. You should be comfortable standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking.
