About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Advocacy and Engagement. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Jewish students and communities across Ontario.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive advocacy strategy to advance the organization's Israel and Jewish advocacy agenda on emerging campuses.
  • Collaborate with campus directors and senior leadership to guide and implement the organization's advocacy strategy.
  • Support student leaders in their advocacy efforts, identifying specific goals and implementing strategies and measurable objectives in partnership with the advocacy team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with university staff, including Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Security, and Division of Students.
  • Engage Jewish and non-Jewish students interested in advocacy and build strategic relationships with various stakeholders and clubs on campus.
  • Develop and drive provincial campus advocacy campaigns aimed at countering antisemitism and promoting Israel.
  • Provide mentorship and training to students to improve their advocacy skills and become more effective.
  • Monitor and report on Anti-Semitic and Anti-Zionist activities across the campuses in their portfolio.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study (Master's would be preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in a Jewish Advocacy role.
  • 3+ years of experience with demonstrable leadership and mentorship.
  • High level of involvement working with University administration, political organizing, or campus life, all with a clear understanding and appreciation for the campus dynamics.
  • Sophisticated written and verbal communication skills.
Abilities and Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a collaborative, team environment.
  • An ability to multi-task and troubleshoot effectively, under tight timelines with significant pressure.
  • Knowledge and experience with network management, social networking, and social media.
  • The interest and ability to build effective and meaningful relationships with staff, university students, and community members.
  • Skills in community organizing, campaigning, and programming.
