We strive to create an inclusive environment that supports a broad spectrum of identities, fostering intellectual, social, and spiritual growth among students. Our mission is to engage, empower, and inspire the next generation of Jewish leaders to make a meaningful impact on the future of the Jewish people and the world.

About the Role

The Director of Advocacy and Engagement will play a critical role in advancing Hillel Ontario's Israel and Jewish advocacy agenda on campuses beyond our current reach. Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement advocacy strategies in partnership with the Hillel Ontario Advocacy Task Force and senior leadership team.
  2. Support advocacy initiatives on Ontario's emerging campuses without a Hillel presence.
  3. Build relationships with university staff and students to promote Hillel's advocacy agenda.

  5. Collaborate with other Jewish and/or Israel advocacy organizations operating on campus to further Hillel's strategic advocacy objectives.
  6. Elevate and amplify student perspectives and voices.
  7. Create and drive provincial campus advocacy campaigns aimed at countering antisemitism and promoting Israel.
  8. Visit campuses regularly to train and empower students in their advocacy efforts.
  9. Mentor students to improve their advocacy skills and become more effective.
  10. Provide monthly reports on antisemitic and anti-Zionist activities across the campuses in their portfolio.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Jewish advocacy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a complex environment. The candidate should also have a high level of emotional intelligence, be masterful at building and maintaining relationships, and be able to work effectively in a geographically dispersed environment.

What We Offer

Hillel Ontario offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $85,000 annually, a comprehensive benefits package, and a flexible and hybrid work environment. We are committed to creating an accepting and inclusive environment for all employees and offer a range of professional development opportunities.
