Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced General Manager to lead our Ottawa market and team of industry-leading professionals in public affairs, communications, and advisory services. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to drive growth, success, and innovation within our organization. The ideal candidate will have 15-20 years of experience in leadership roles, preferably in both corporate and agency environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Innovative Leadership: Foster a collaborative environment that delivers outstanding work, encourages new thinking, and inspires an energetic culture centered on executional excellence and client success.
  • Talent Management: Ensure top-tier training, new challenges, and career growth for employees, creating an environment that fosters employee retention with authenticity and transparency.
  • Commercial Growth: Actively develop new business opportunities, properly vet leads, and guide the pitch process to convert leads into new clients.
  • Client Relationships: Serve as a trusted strategic business partner to clients and colleagues, providing strategic counsel at a C-suite level.

Critical Experience

  • Deep service knowledge across multiple verticals including public affairs, government relations, strategic communications, public relations, and public participation.
  • Exceptional judgment, agility, and the ability to manage change and complex relationships.
  • Strong financial literacy, having led a significant P&L with a track record of success in maintaining growth and profitability.
  • A genuine love for the people and the work, serving as a cultural champion with experience leading and being a member of diverse hybrid teams.
  • Political savvy and experience working with government stakeholders.
  • Experience leading business development efforts; growth mindset and ability to convert new opportunities.
  • A strong network of trusted relationships across government, business, and community stakeholders.

Salary Estimate: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on industry standards and location. Bonus potential available based on performance.
