Senior Mechanical Product Development Manager

This is a key leadership role that oversees the development of IMAX's mechanical products.
About You- You will have 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering leadership roles, preferably with hands-on experience in precision mechanical design.
- Lead and mentor a team of Mechanical Engineers and Designers to ensure high-quality standards are met in mechanical product development.
- Participate in headcount planning, budgeting, and product roadmap discussions to align with business objectives.
- Oversee engineering resource usage and progress, providing necessary support to Procurement, Quality, Manufacturing, Installation, and Technical Services teams.
- Manage the mechanical product development process, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices.
- Collaborate with Optical, Electrical, and Software teams to ensure robust system architectures and deliver integrated solutions.
- Budget for this role: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
- 7-10 years of experience in precision mechanical design, with expertise in Solidworks or similar tools, including PDM systems.
- Able to document mechanical product requirements, designs, and implementations effectively.
- Strong understanding of weldments, coatings, platings, and precision mechanical engineering principles.
- Familiarity with opto-mechanical components, high power laser systems, and thermal design considerations is a plus.
