The ALS Society of Canada seeks a highly skilled and experienced Major Gifts Fundraising Manager to join their team in Toronto, ON. This is a hybrid role that requires 2 days of work in the office.

This position reports directly to the Vice President, Fund Development, and plays a crucial role in executing the organization's major giving strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for revenue generation, leadership, and management, as well as cultivation and stewardship of key donors.

Job Description:

Leadership and Management

  • Develop and manage annual fundraising budgets and operating plans for Major Gifts and Partnership portfolios.
  • Analyze trends in major gifts fundraising to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Develop reports and presentations for the Board and senior management on owned portfolios and other subjects of expertise.
  • Provide leadership and oversee training/development, performance evaluation, and employee engagement for direct reports.

Revenue Generation

  • Meet or exceed overall revenue targets for Major Gifts and Partnership portfolios.
  • Built a prospect pipeline and actively cultivate, solicit, and steward philanthropic and sponsorship prospects.
  • Build, manage, and steward relationships with key donors.

Cultivation & Stewardship

  • Identify, grow, and manage a portfolio of individual, family, and corporate foundation prospects.
  • Develop, monitor, and implement comprehensive and consistent stewardship/recognition plans and strategies across the organization.

Administration

  • Ensure Raiser's Edge database is kept up-to-date with timely and accurate information on all prospects and current donors.

Requirements:

Salary:$90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Education: Completion of post-secondary education with 6-8 years related progressive work experience in successful institutional fundraising or partnership development.

Experience: Demonstrated fundraising experience, including successfully closing gifts at the $25,000+ level and leading national and regional fundraising campaigns with revenue targets of $1M+.

Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to strategically align donor interests with approved funding priorities/case for support, strong project management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
