Job Title: Youth Outreach Worker

Located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, the District of West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore, home to parks, beaches, and sports, recreation, and arts amenities.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Youth Outreach Worker. This is a permanent, full-time position that requires a strong commitment to creating a complete, inclusive, and livable community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish ongoing relationships with youth, including those in imminent risk, to provide support and develop personal, social, and leadership potential.
  • Provide outreach to youth in the community, working independently and utilizing critical thinking skills to effectively engage with youth in crisis.
  • Assist in managing youth in our various Youth Services drop-in spaces.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, implement, and supervise Youth Services outreach programs, outings, and events.
  • Work in partnership and collaboration with other Youth Services providers.
  • Understand a wide variety of youth issues.
Requirements:
  • University or college degree in social sciences or a youth-related subject, such as Education or Child and Youth Care.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working with youth, preferably in an outreach capacity.
  • Current Emergency First Aid (or better) with CPR 'C' and AED certification.
  • Unrestricted Class 4 BC Driver's License and access to use of a personal vehicle.
