Program Supervisor

**Position Description**: As the Program Supervisor, reporting to the Program Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out Housing Support duties that directly and indirectly support tenants living in transitional housing. Through your leadership and guidance, you will supervise an interdisciplinary clinical team.

**Hours of Work**: 40 hours per week. Some flexibility is required to meet program needs, including evening and weekend hours. Participation in the on-call schedule is required.
**Duties Include**:
Housing Support
- Reinforcing individuals’ life skills, spirituality, social and community skills. Supporting them to achieve their goals while encouraging independence and recovery.
- Planning and facilitating programs. Helping individuals connect to community resources and supports.
- Assisting with admission and orientation of new tenants, coordinating move-ins and tenant welcome.
- Rent collection, pest management, and other landlord responsibilities.
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
- Other duties as required.
Supervision
**Team**:
- Supervising and supporting an interdisciplinary team to achieve their goals. Conducting and documenting regular check-ins with staff while completing employee performance evaluations.
- Participating and leading the staff recruitment process as needed, in collaboration with Program Manager and HR Team.
- Overseeing a thorough onboarding and orientation process for new employees, students, and volunteers.
- Attention to team dynamics, and the development and maintenance of positive team culture.
- Ensuring consistent and clear direction to program staff around maintaining and protecting tenant health records.
- Support the team / staff responses to tenant complaints/concerns.
- Coordinating and performing on-call responsibilities as required.
**Program**:
- Consistently collaborating and communicating with Program Manager to identify and problem solve around gaps in systems and processes.
- Leading, attending and actively involved in team and other agency meetings as required.
- Keeping apprised of new research and developments relevant to your role, transfer knowledge back to the team and tenants in the most effective way.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with community and health partners to support the team and tenants in connecting to services.
- Support roll-out of new assessment tools to program staff and tenants.
- Compiling and maintaining data using various databases.
- Reviewing Landlord Tenant Board process, as needed, in collaboration with the Program Manager, and representing Indwell at possible hearings.
- Other duties as required.
**Skills**: Being genuine and caring toward individuals who live with a serious mental illness, substance use, or have other special needs. Utilizing a harm reduction approach while having knowledge of local community resources/supports and landlord-tenant relations is beneficial. Demonstrating effective crisis intervention skills with the ability to work effectively in a high stress environment in collaboration with the team. Having strong problem-solving skills, being flexible, organized, responsible, and taking initiative. Committed to continuous professional development.
**Education/Experience**: Post
- Secondary degree in related field or equivalent with 2 years of supervisory experience in a social service setting. Experience working in mental health and/or addictions is beneficial.
**Salary**: $54,300- $64,400 annual salary based on education and experience. Indwell offers a competitive benefits package and RRSP contribution.
