We are seeking a skilled Tenant Navigator to join our team at the Ontario Municipal Social Services Association. The successful candidate will provide support to vulnerable tenants in our portfolio, making referrals to community agencies and improving the quality of life at our properties. This role requires a strong understanding of social work principles and a demonstrated ability to work independently in a non-standard work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support to vulnerable tenants, including referrals to community agencies
Develop and implement strategies to improve tenant stability and well-being
Collaborate with community agencies to provide comprehensive support services
Provide education and resources to tenants on housing-related topics
Maintain accurate records and reports on tenant interactions and outcomes
Requirements
Social Services Worker Diploma or Social Work degree from an accredited college or university
Eligible to obtain a membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Service Workers and Social Workers (OCSSWSW) within 90 days
Strong knowledge of property management in a social housing environment
Demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by people living with low-to-moderate incomes
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to exercise a high level of independence and integrity while working in a non-standard work environment
Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including Residential Tenancies Act and Housing Services Act
Must have a valid Ontario Driver's license and ability to travel
Criminal reference check with vulnerable sector clearance
Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset
A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a progressively responsible, related position
Crisis intervention, conflict resolution, mediation, and facilitation experience
Salary Range
$52,744.00 - $64,173.00 per annum
