Job Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Personal Support Worker to join our team in the Shelburne area. This is a part-time position that requires a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supportive care to residents and tenants in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assess residents' and tenants' health status by recognizing signs and symptoms and reporting to the Nursing Supervisor or Administrator as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with facility personnel to provide a safe and supportive environment.
  • Participate in staff development, safety, quality assurance, environmental, and infection control programs.
  • Deal courteously and respectfully with staff, residents, tenants, resident/tenant families, and visitors.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and Gentle Persuasion Approaches to Dementia Care (GPA) are assets.
  • Excellent teamwork and effective communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and under pressure.
  • High interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Experience in medication administration is an asset.
  • Willingness to update and keep current their knowledge of changing regulations, practices, and procedures is a requirement.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening is required (dated within 6 months of employment start date).
