About the Role:

The YMCA of Greater Vancouver is seeking a highly motivated and experienced School Age Leader to join our team at the YMCA Highland School Age Care. As a School Age Leader, you will be responsible for providing quality care and creative programming to children, while also establishing and maintaining positive daily communication and interaction with families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interact directly with children, providing quality care and creative programming
  • Establish and maintain positive daily communication and interaction with families
  • Implement YMCA A Place to Connect curriculum with the support of your leader
  • Plan and implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate program of activities
  • Ensure all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained according to licensing and YMCA requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must be 19 years of age and able to provide three satisfactory references
  • Responsible Adult certification, equivalent child-related training, or a willingness to obtain training
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check with clear Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Current Child Care First Aid, CPR, and AED certification or willingness to obtain
