About the Role

The Technical Support Specialist role focuses on delivering competency training and value education to relevant stakeholders for Hexagon's Underground products, systems, and services.

You will provide customers with ongoing and proactive technical support and advice through regular communication and system oversight, maintaining high product, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Implement product and service solutions, providing face-to-face and remote competency training and value education to stakeholders.
  • Offer customers technical support and guidance through regular communication and system oversight.
  • Collaborate with engineering and development teams to scope, test, and launch new products and features.
  • Maintain and adhere to Hexagon documentation and reporting standards, participating in audits when required.
  • Perform quality assurance and control checks on products before delivery, presenting recommendations for improvements.
  • Stay up-to-date with Hexagon's latest mining technology products and their integration to solve customer challenges.
  • Represent Hexagon Mining professionally and promote their brand, upselling products and services where possible.
Requirements
  • Experience in the underground hard rock mining industry (critical).
  • Experience in the mining equipment, technology, and services industry (critical).
  • Previous experience working with remote teams (highly desirable).
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a mining environment (highly desirable).
  • Experience working with technology.
  • Experience working in an office or corporate environment.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a similar role (preferred, but not essential).
Skills and Qualifications
  • Fluency in English.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work within diverse environments.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • High levels of written, oral, and electronic communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and self-management skills.
  • Ability to pass background checks, police checks, drug and alcohol screening, and full mine site medical.
  • Ability to coach and passion to see others achieve their full potential.
  • Highly flexible and able to adapt to changing work environments and demographics.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team.
  • Empathy and experience engaging with people who are afraid or intimidated by technology.
  • Enthusiastic nature, positive focus, and optimistic outlook.
  • Motivated to take on a continuous learning journey.
Travel Requirements
  • This role requires estimated 35% travel per calendar year, for up to two weeks at a time, allowing you to work with clients worldwide and see different parts of the mining industry in action.
  • You'll be supported by logistical measures including travel allowances, accommodation, and meal expenses.
  • Passport required.
Additional Information
  • You will enjoy the flexibility of working from home, with office locations available in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto. Our head office is located in Tucson, Arizona.
  • Salary: Approximately $85,000 - $120,000 USD per annum, commensurate with experience and location.
