Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Contract Administrator to work on a municipal wastewater infrastructure construction project site in Toronto.

The responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with the Project Manager, Design Team, Client, and Construction Contractor to resolve technical field problems.
  • Reviewing construction submittals and ensuring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements.
  • Coordinating inspections, providing regular updates to the project team and Client, reviewing and preparing contractor payment applications, and responding to RFI's.
  • Issuing RFQs, Change Orders, Change Directives, and Site Instructions.
  • Participating in the negotiation of change orders specific to design changes.
  • Participating in the resolution of delay and other claims by the contractor.
  • Documenting all construction meetings onsite.
  • Coordinating testing and commissioning activities.
  • Functioning as AECOM's Onsite Safety Officer.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field + 4 years of experience in a field role on municipal water or wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Contract administration experience.
  • Registered P.Eng. in Ontario or eligible within 12 months.
  • Driving license and access to own vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a field role on municipal water or wastewater infrastructure projects and experience providing contract administration and/or site inspection.
  • Understanding of construction project sequencing.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work in teams, respond to changing demands, be decisive under pressure, and remain calm when interfacing with internal and external personnel.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Supervised construction related to vertical infrastructure.
  • Process equipment commissioning experience.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
