Senior Communications Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communications Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our Communications and Public Affairs team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategic communication plans to support our organization's vision, values, and goals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultation and guidance to internal stakeholders, including Executive Directors, Medical Directors, and other Fraser Health leaders, on strategic communication strategies and plans.
- Develop and implement communication plans to engage internal and external audiences, including employees, physicians, volunteers, patients, and the community.
- Collaborate with other team members to plan and coordinate media publicity, special events, and advertising to promote a positive corporate image and organizational strategies.
- Write and produce various internal and external communications materials, including reports, briefs, and presentations.
- Supervise and provide work direction to assigned staff, including selection, hiring, orientation, performance management, and termination processes.
- Manage projects on budget and on deadline, including coordinating with external and internal suppliers.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- University degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
- Five to seven years of recent related experience in a communications or public affairs role in a large public sector, health care, or similarly complex organization.
- Strong knowledge of communications concepts, strategies, and technical skills.
- Ability to provide strategic counsel, plan and write a broad range of copy, and manage projects on budget and on deadline.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
