Network Infrastructure Specialist

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at the Niagara Region. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, and virtualization. You will work closely with our IT team to identify and resolve technical issues, implement new technologies, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement network infrastructure solutions to meet business needs
- Maintain and troubleshoot network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Implement and manage virtualization solutions, such as VMware and Hyper-V
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Collaborate with the IT team to identify and resolve technical issues
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in network infrastructure design and implementation
- Strong knowledge of routing, switching, and firewall technologies
- Experience with virtualization solutions, such as VMware and Hyper-V
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
