Mircom Group of Companies, a leading provider of intelligent building and life safety solutions, is seeking a seasoned Director of Quality & Continuous Improvement. This senior leadership role will be responsible for driving quality objectives forward by developing and implementing an organization-wide quality management strategy.

As the ideal candidate, you will have extensive experience in quality management, a deep understanding of ISO standards, and a strategic mindset to reduce defects and improve product quality. Your expertise in Six Sigma methodologies and Lean Manufacturing principles will enable you to make data-driven decisions and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

The successful candidate will oversee quality management systems, focusing on key metrics such as Cost of Poor Quality, Scrap, Yield, Return Material Authorization, and Supplier Quality. You will lead and mentor the quality team, providing guidance on tools, training, and professional development to ensure high performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management strategy, transitioning from ISO-9001 to ISO-9004 and integrating Six Sigma methodologies to reduce defects and improve product quality.
  • Oversee quality management systems, focusing on key metrics (e.g., Cost of Poor Quality, Scrap, Yield, Return Material Authorization, Supplier Quality) to drive continuous improvement, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor the quality team, providing guidance on tools, training, and professional development to ensure high performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with product design, operations, applications, sales, and customer service teams to ensure quality is embedded across all processes, improving customer satisfaction and safety standards.
  • Analyze performance data, customer feedback, and key quality metrics to drive decision-making and implement preventative actions.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, conduct audits, and implement corrective actions to maintain high-quality standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Strengthen relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure product quality meets regulatory and customer expectations, and address quality concerns promptly.
  • Promote innovation, integrate emerging technologies, and foster collaboration across departments to improve product development and maintain high-quality standards.
Requirements and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in quality management within manufacturing, with 5+ years in leadership.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing quality systems (ISO-9001/9004).
  • Six Sigma (Black/Green Belt) and Lean Manufacturing experience highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership, data-driven decision-making, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Expertise in quality management tools, statistical analysis, and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
  • Professional Accreditation in Quality Management or Quality Engineering (CQE, CQA, CMQ) is preferred.
